Our decision to clone Cassie can be broken down into 2 questions: why do we want to clone and why do we want to clone Cassie. The second question is easy: we have had many talented border collies who excelled in agility and rally; but in terms of temperament, personality, athletic ability, biddability, and intelligence, Cassie is far and away the most amazing border collie we have had. People can’t spend 5 minutes with her without smiling.

She has a penchant for people, especially children; and she’s never met a dog or person she did not love. She is enthusiastic about everything in her life. We call her the “optimist” because she gets excited about every little detail of her life. Why clone? We have had long and successful careers in dog sports, especially agility, with multiple finalists at the NAC, at the UKI Open, with multiple MACHs on all our dogs. We have gotten older, but we still want to compete. With the limited time and dogs in our future, we want to toss the dice in our favor as much as possible. Cloning a dog like Cassie will do that.
